Electro-hydraulic servo system is a kind of automatic control system based on the principle of hydraulic transmission and the use of electro-hydraulic servo mechanism. In such a system, the motion of the executive element changes with the change of the control signal.

Electro-hydraulic servo valve is an automatic control valve, which is both an electro-hydraulic conversion component and a power amplifier component. Its function is to convert the low-power analog signal input into a high-power hydraulic energy flow and pressure output that changes with the size and polarity of the electrical signal and responds quickly, so as to realize the control of the displacement, speed, acceleration and force of the hydraulic actuator.

The electro-hydraulic servo valve is usually composed of an electro-mechanical converter, a hydraulic amplifier and a detection feedback mechanism.
